Worthing Together brings together organisations and individuals from across Worthing in a unique partnership to tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
As a framework for making improvements, in 2004, Worthing Together produced a community strategy called The Town We Want.
A lot has happened since 2004. A new community strategy is needed, based on changing local needs, and embedding national priorities such as sustainable communities, and climate change. A new plan will need to integrate policies and infrastructure plans for the development of Worthing for the next two decades.
As a bridging measure, Worthing’s Interim Sustainable Community Strategy of 2008 was produced. Then Worthing Together agreed to work together with neighbouring Local Strategic Partnership, Adur in Partnership, towards a joint Sustainable Community Strategy, which will supersede all the earlier strategies of both areas. It will be called Waves Ahead.

We are currently asking local people – both groups and individuals – to comment on the list of local needs that we have already gathered, and to tell us what their priorities are for tackling these.
