Choosing Health
£50,000 'Choosing Health' money has recently been awarded to three projects in Worthing to increase life expectancy and reduce premature mortality in Local Neighbourhood Improvement Areas (Central, Durrington, Heene, Northbrook and Selden wards).
Out of eleven bids, the three which met the criteria most closely were:
- The Chrsyalis Project, run by the Family Welfare Association, offering support to children and families affected by substance misuse, through creative therapies for children, and parent support for families.
- BME Community Services, offering a voice and support to the black and minority ethnic communities, encouraging integration, promoting healthier living and reducing social exclusion
- Worthing Women's Aid, to provide appropriate support for children at the women's refuge, as well as a safe space to deal with their experiences.
