Choosing Health
£50,000 'Choosing Health' money has been awarded to three projects in Worthing to increase life expectancy and reduce premature mortality in Local Neighbourhood Improvement Areas (Central, Durrington, Heene, Northbrook and Selden wards).
Out of eleven bids, the three which met the criteria most closely were:
- The Chrysalis Project, run by Addaction, offering support to children and families affected by substance misuse, through creative therapies for children, and parent support for families. For further information see The Chrysalis Project
- BME Community Services, offering a voice and support to the black and minority ethnic communities, encouraging integration, promoting healthier living and reducing social exclusion. See Worthing BME Health Outreach Project
- Worthing Women's Aid, to provide appropriate support for children at the women's refuge, as well as a safe space to deal with their experiences. For more information, see Refuge children's service
